The secrets of how to prepare your Instagram content for search

In 2020 Instagram is one of the biggest social media platforms, where you will always face obstacles and competition. You can’t get rid of the competitors completely, but what you can and should do, is to try to make that competition lower. I can help you to do it!

My name is Justas and I own a theme page on Instagram with more than 13K followers right now. Over the last couple of months, I gained a lot of experience on social media and I want to reveal all the secrets to you. To lower the competition on Instagram nowadays, page and hashtag optimization is a really important thing, so that’s why in this article I will tell you how to optimize your Instagram page and hashtags.

Before we start I just wanted to say that this article is just a small cut out of my last article — “8 Tips That Will Get You Thousands of Followers on Instagram”, I highly recommend you to check it out.

1. Profile Picture

I think that the profile picture is the most underrated part of your Instagram page. It’s important because it creates that first impression for people who see your page. The profile picture should be a simple image, which would show what your page is all about. It shouldn’t be too detailed, because your page visitors won’t see the full image.

2. Username

Username is also a very relevant thing for the growth of your page. A lot of Instagram users put dots and underscores in their usernames, but I don’t recommend doing that, because it will just be harder for people to remember it. The name of your page should be as short as possible, but also very easy to understand, it also has to explain to the people what your page is all about, and as I said before, try not to include any dots or underscores.

3. Bio

An Instagram bio is a small summary, found underneath your username, about yourself or your business. Don’t put just any random quote or emojis in your bio as all the other people do, bio is on your page for a reason. The purpose of a bio is to tell people what will they get in return if they followed your page. It can also contain a call to action at the very bottom and also a website link.

4. Hashtags

Hashtags are one of the most important things on Instagram when it comes to growth. Although people aren’t underrating hashtags, a very big part of Instagram users don’t know how to use them right. In short, you have to search up to 30 hashtags, that are relevant to your page’s niche and have a high total post count, but the post per day count should be as low as possible so you get bigger chances of ranking on that hashtag (ranking on a hashtag means that your post is one of the top 9 posts on the hashtag). The best tool to find your hashtags is called “Hashtastic” and it has a free version that you can use and I use it too. It shows the total posts on that hashtags and the posts per day, so you can easily write down all the hashtags that you need in your notes and use them every time, although you should change them up a bit every couple of months.

These were the best tips I could give you to optimize your Instagram page and hashtags. I hope it will really help you and your account will grow much faster now!
